About North Miami Residents Directory

North Miami no longer has one printed volume naming every resident. Useful clues now sit with several custodians: the county links owners to parcels and deeds, election officials maintain voter records, and local history collections preserve older directories. This private reference brings those routes together so readers can begin with a person, street, or former address and reach the right official index or archive.

Why We Built This Reference

The end of printed resident books did not erase the source records. It spread them among different offices. Miami-Dade County Property Search holds parcel ownership, while the County Recorder indexes deeds and other recorded instruments. Election records are governed by Florida law. Older directory volumes and genealogy sources remain with Miami-Dade Public Library System, HistoryMiami, and the State Library. We organize the official search tools, contacts, access routes, and known coverage details so North Miami research does not begin with a blind search across unrelated agencies.

What the Directory Contains

  • Pages by angle: the street directory (address-keyed records), the city directory (the historical shelf), and the resident lookup (one-person searches)
  • Custodians and rolls: the Property Appraiser, County Recorder, Clerk of Courts, elections offices, vital-record agencies, and local history collections
  • Practical methods: ways to trace a street, interpret an old directory entry, or follow one household through several record years
  • Access boundaries: what Florida Public Records Law makes available, what remains protected, and which request channel works when no online index exists

Limits of This Service

This is a privately operated reference site. It is not part of the City of North Miami, Miami-Dade County, the State of Florida, any court, or any library. Those boundaries mean:

  • We cannot confirm whether a specific person currently lives in North Miami
  • We cannot pull, certify, or change any record on your behalf
  • We cannot add anyone to, or remove anyone from, any roll or database
  • We cannot give legal advice about a record or a dispute
  • We cannot promise that every coverage year, link, or office detail here is current at this moment

Only the custodian office can confirm, certify, or correct a record. Nothing found through this site may be used for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
